LEAVING YOUR PUPPY HOME ALONE:

When you purchase one of our puppies, they are associated with a crate and comfortable being in the crate. We do this so you will have less problems with your puppy feeling abandoned from their litter mates. Your puppy will be sent home with something that the litter mates have all been around to provide him/her with a familiar smell.

For the first couple of weeks, you need to be there for your puppy, bonding is very important at this time. Have that "Safe Zone" ready for your puppy before you pick up your puppy. A room where you will have him/her as their own territory. You need to put your puppy in the crate, for a few minutes, at many differant times during the day to teach him his "Safe Zone" in his/her new home. Each time you do this, you should make the time in the crate a little longer. Soon your puppy will know this is where they have to be for quiet time. NEVER use the crate as punishment! Eventually, the puppy will retire to his/her crate on their own. They are den animals, and love to be in an enclosed area.
The puppy will whine, and carry on until he/she is comfortable with the new area. Stay close to the crate, talk to your puppy and then leave the room, and let the puppy relax. After the puppy has settled down, let him/her out and praise your puppy. Then take the puppy outside, to teach them to relieve themselves outside and not in the house. If you have raised a child, you can raise a puppy.
Eventually, when you have to run to the store, or out for awhile, and you can't take your puppy with you, they will learn to stay home alone and not be destructive. Just make sure your puppy has gone "Potty" first, and is in a safe place where they can't get into trouble. You NEVER want to put your new puppy in danger of being hurt while you are away.
Puppies take time to grow and mature, it's up to you to provide time, patience, and lots of love. You will have an amazing adult when you raise your puppy properly.
And remember, as soon as you get home, you let your puppy out to relieve themself. A safe home and proper management of your new young friend will turn into many years of happiness for you.!
